Using microsoft account balance + other payment option at the same time?

To do a split playment, you need to start a payment using a credit card and it should ask if you want to use the remaining funds in your account first, then it will pay the balance using your card. This must be done on the console and keep in mind that not
all content can be purchased using a split playment.

When you are attempting to purchase content, there should be an option to change the payment option. You should then be shown a list of payment options, which should include one labeled "Microsoft Account: $x.xx" Your Microsoft Account balance is essentially
what use to be your Microsoft Points.

At this time, there is no way to pay to a partial amount using your Microsoft Account balance. You must pay in full with whatever payment option that you choose.

Therefore, there is no way to pay say $5 of a $10 DLC using one payment option and then use another option to pay the remaining balance.

I had the option to use ny Microsoft account balance at the point of pre-order, and it even states under the payment options that account balance can be used and is the only payment method charged immediately for pre-orders.

Our problem is changing the amount of balance taken after the order is in place.

Microsoft and Xbox gift cards now go to the same account balance too. They're interchangeable.

Yeah, same here i go into my payment and billing, click payment options, add a new payment, and i see nothing that says Microsoft account balance. I first noticed this when i redeemed a 3$ from Microsoft rewards points and noticed that it was not in my balance. So I couldn’t use any of the Microsoft account balance in the store.

How do i check my balance and how can i use it

My microsoft account balance is 0 and i dont have any other payment options
