using lenovo laptop as a monitor for xbox

I'm trying to cast my xbox to my Lenovo laptop. the HDMI ports on lenovo are only HDMI out, but could I potentially use an HDMI in to USB out and connect the xbox to my laptop via USB, then use the laptop as a monitor?

and for the xbox to boot properly needs to have a hdmi connection, as the xbox most of the time will not boot unless it detects hdmi.

I don´t know one laptop where you could use the build in monitor to use it for Picture intput of other devices. Normally a laptop could do only deliver pictures to another monitor or tv.. I guess there will be no way to do it..

I think the only way for this to work would be to stream your console to your laptop using the xbox app on your laptop, it would be better if both devices are connected via ethernet cable instead of wifi

Just like WPAK has already pointed out, the only other way to get this to 'work' (and I'll use that term loosely) would be via a capture device. This device would sit between your console and laptop and would allow you to see the console on your laptop display.

The biggest issue with a capture device is latency. Put simply, the video feed has to be processed again by the capture device and then sent to the display. The delay between pressing buttons and controller input and on-screen action can be pretty high,
potentially higher than via the Xbox to PC streaming function on the Xbox One.

Install the xbox app and stream your console to the laptop. Both must be on the same same network and windows 10 is required.
