Using Gamertag from email account that was deleted

Hi there, was wondering whether anyone could help me out.

Had a gamertag that was attached to an email account (for reference lets call it "Gamertag X"). Wanted to transfer the Gamertag X to a new email account but some errors occured stating that I was unable to transfer the gamertag to the new email account.
So i deleted the email account that Gamertag X was attached to and waited 60 days for that specific account to be permanently deleted hoping Gamertag X would become available again to be used with my email account.

60 days have past since I had deleted the email account Gamertag X was associated with, but whenever I try to change the gamertag of the new email account to Gamertag X, the change gamertag page states that Gamertag X has been taken. Checked the gamertag
search function to find out whether someone else took the tag however the search stated that they could not find the person with the associated gamertag.

Does anyone know if or when Gamertag X will be back in circulation to be claimed?

Get on account with no email.

i recently deleted my email from my account thinking it would delete the account so i could use the gamertag on a different account, but it didnt delete it and that account was deleted off my console so how do i get it back if it has no email on it? HELP

Deleted Account, but I still receive E-mails

I have deleted my account in 2013 but I still receive E-mails on my old Gamertag. The email-adress is the same I am using right now. (I created this account to be able to post this) Is there a way that you can unsubscribe me from the Rewards email list or
even delete my old account in rewards. If you need more information, please let me know. My old Gamertag is HighRoller107.

no. gts can't be deleted like you are thinking. idk why people think that. ms hasn't done any purging of gts since the original xbox era.

I made the assumption that the gamertag would be deleted as microsoft alludes to the deletion of all associated items under the windows ID/microsoft account that is to be deleted in question under their help pages.

Although it did not state that the gamertag would expressly be deleted, the framing of the text alludes to the deletion.

To my knowledge, this only removes the gamertag from the Xbox. It does not delete the gamertag or remove it from an associated email account.

Like was said above is the best option that you have, you can associate your email to another Microsoft Account but notice, and this is very important, you cannot delete the Main Microsoft account or it will delete everything.

I will try to explain better:

Microsoft Account A - Email A - Xbox Gamertag A

Microsoft Account B - Email B - Xbox Gamertag B

You can associate Email A to Microsoft Account B which will became available to you to login Xbox Gamertag B with Email A by using the Alias system.

But since now the Xbox Gamertag is associated with the Microsoft Account, you cannot delete only that gamertag, you only can delete the Microsoft Account for all (email, account, xbox gamertag...etc).

So if you really want to do this you remember to not delete any of the Microsoft Accounts.

You can't just delete the email from the account. You can swap it in account management on your console, morph the registered email at account.live.com or delete the registered email out of the system at account.live.com. However, deleting it without swapping
it would make it a "bad" WLID and you wouldn't be able to use your gamertag, as far as I know.
