    Using Game Pass trial code while Gold subscription is still active?


    I currently have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription that has several months remaining. I also have an unused Game Pass (GP) trial code (forget if it was 14 day or 1 month). What would happen if I were to redeem the GP code now?

    Would my account switch to GP now for the duration of the trial period, and then revert back to Gold after the trial expires? If so, do I lose any time on my Gold subscription, or does the Gold timer suspend while GP is active?

    Would my account not switch to GP until after Gold expires (which in my case would not be for several months)?

    Something else?

    What happens with my codes?

    Gold trials can only be used if you're not currently on a gold subscription. So if you're still on a subscription, it won't work.

    The game pass trial is only for accounts that have never used game pass.

    It is probably because you previously activated your game pass ultimate subscription. If you redeem a prepaid gold or game pass code while you have active the game pass ultimate subscription, the code will extend the time of the game pass ultimate subscription
    but considering a conversion. A 12-month code of Xbox Live Gold extends a 4-month equivalent of a Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

    Some games or console bundles may include a prepaid code for a 2-, 3-, or 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial. This trial starts as soon as you activate the prepaid card. Redeemable codes for Xbox Live Gold trial subscriptions are only available in select games
    and console bundles.

    I would like to mention, if you have Microsoft Rewards it is possible to get Game Pass or even Xbox Live Gold using the points earned on the account instead of cash.

    If you mean the Xbox one games with gold you need an active gold subscription.

    If you mean the game pass games, you need a subscription after the trial is over.
