    Using Fitness offline

    Hi

I have some problem when using xbox fitness online.

always it stops playing in order to receive data from the internet.

I have a 2Mbps internet and xbox live gold account.

Is there any way to download workouts and use them offline?

    Regards,

    :)

CDN Error, Resource not available. Xbox Fitness - Xbox One

Hi, I finally made it working, not sure if MS fixed something in game itself, or just manual system upgrade did the trick, but since yesterday evening I have Xbox fitness working. Xbox Support suggested going through this procedure:

    support-origin.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool

when I did and checked again, Xbox Fitness loaded correctly.

    Xbox Fitness End of Life?

Please do not shut down Xbox Fitness. It's one of the cool Features of Xbox One &Kinect. At least make it available offline.

Playing the workouts offline or downloading them is not possible. They have to be streamed.

In the Xbox One settings, if you go to network and to a network test, what download speed and ping does it list there?

  5. Up to yesterday, I had 25-30 mbps (maximum) through my ISP. I finally broke down and had them upgrade it to 50 (maximum).

Too early to call but it did make a difference to yesterday's workout. I suspect that my 25 mbps (shared by cell phones, a laptop, TVs etc.) wasn't enough for Fitness, despite Microsoft's claims. I'll check it out over the next month and report back but
my workout yesterday was super smooth for the first time in a long time.

I have 100 mbps in both directions and an ISP which vocally opposes throttling and traffic shaping, but Xbox Fitness still has days where it struggles. I still have my region set to Ireland while I am physically in the Netherlands (because I imported my
Xbox), so I suppose it could be blamed on that. But I suspect even with my region fixed and the best internet connection it the world it won't be flawless.

It even seems that things got worse since the Xbox One got released in the Netherlands, like there just isn't enough capacity. I am still able to finish workouts but it stutters and skips forward a few seconds from time to time. Not as bad as when I started
in February when it would just display 'internect connection error' message and pause the workout completely, but still.

  7. sionetix - yes I suspect you are right.

The next day my connection was pausing again so I agree - you maybe could have the best bandwidth and still struggle.

It would be nice to talk to the genius who came up with streaming the same workouts over and over and over and see if they have ever heard of caching and why it is so useful in avoiding streaming issues?

Please go here and vote for the feature. Maybe with enough votes MS will allow some of the fitness content to be downloaded
    rather than streamed.

Surely it is also in their best interest to have content downloaded rather than streamed to make more bandwidth available for more important things like system updates? A once off download beats a constant stream in my opinion.

They could still force you to be online though to use the content but offer a smoother overall experience by having the content live locally.

I have a 4mbps ADSL and that is the mamimum that my line/telecoms service provider can offer in my area. Just two roads over however they have VDSL which offers speeds 10 times faster. Bummer for me Using Fitness offline :(

I would vote if the browser would let me (keeps telling me 'We couldn't submit your vote at this time.'). But honestly I doubt this will happen, my guess is the agreements they have with content providers like Beachbody specifies they only have a streaming
license and specifically prohibits saving to disk.

Although if that is true it doesn't mean they can't improve. The streaming has been pretty solid for me lately, but on those few off days where I do have issues it seems like it could have been prevented. Xbox Fitness seems to only buffer a tiny amount of
the video. When your connection acts up only a little bit it can result in switching between HD and SD multiple times, or it just runs out of buffer. Simply buffering more seems like a relatively easy solution to most of the streaming issues. Take Youtube
as an example, once you start to play a Youtube video it tries to buffer as much of the video as possible. Even if you pause a Youtube video it continues to buffer. And not unimportant, the use can see how much of the video is already buffered. Just having
a bigger buffer in general should lead to less hiccups, but when a connection really is questionable a user could simple pause the video at the beginning and build up enough buffer so the video will play smoothly.

The buffering is a major issue! How can i train if xbox fitness app stop working every *** second!?

One easy solution : offline content download and 24 online check, no more buffering and no risks of piracy.

This issue is a show stopper. This app should have never been released without proper buffering of purchased content. It's like they want this to fail?
