    This doesn't work. I just wasted over 100 dollars. I bought the 50 dollar card. Went to confirm purchase with thew credit card and I never got a screen which asked me if I wanted to combine purchases. This is pathetic. That's literally all the money I have.
    Screw this.

    Thanks. I can confirm this is true. Even though it appears as it will charge your card the full amount. You still select your credit card then the next screen will ask you to use the balance.

    I completely agree. This is unbelievable. I can't use my balance as well.

    Glad that worked out for you. As I mentioned the only thing I don't like is if you hit Back you get fully charged instead of taking you back to review your payment information.

    I have been experiencing this same issue for weeks. I have tried and tried to use this balance and yet it won't work?

    I initially believed this to be teething problems and would be fixed when the Beta was over, well that time has came and went and it still will not work!

    The answer above from @Killjoy Kelly is wrong... It does not give you the option to use this remaining balance before purchase because I've tried more than once. Each time I've had no such option and had to pay the full price with my bankcard.

    My balance is currently sitting at just a mere £0.23p below the price of the latest item I wish to buy and it is really getting frustrating when I CANNOT USE MY MONEY THAT IS THERE!?

    What has happened to you Microsoft, everything you do lately is either broke or running late. These Forums are also now a complete waste of time because the issues I have never get satisfactorily answered or fixed.

    I have used the forums at least a dozen times and do you know how many times my issue has been resolved here...?

    NOT ONCE!

    Why is it we have to complain until we turn blue in the face, before an issue gets resolved? When it should be fixed immediately because I pay for the service. Which used to be good service, but these past couple of years it has become a joke.

    While what the two users above said is true, the real problem is your points didn't convert to the correct amount of currency, am I right? If you did indeed have 1200 points at the time of conversion then you should have been given $15. The support lady
    you talked to is incorrect. There's nothing anyone here on the forums can do. Maybe an official support member can but your best bet is to contact billing support. You can either chat online or call them.
    support.xbox.com/.../contact-us. Select Billing and Memberships and find the option that best fits the problem. Probably something under Account Managment.

    then you aren't using the correct thing

    right now you can only use the currnecy from the xbox not from the website

    you can add gift cards via the website but you still have to spend on the console

    When you go to purchase content, you will see the full price of the item on the
    Confirm Purchase screen (Example: $19.99). After you change your payment method of your choosing, click
    Confirm Purchase, a screen will appear stating: “Do you want to apply the $X.XX in your Microsoft account toward this purchase, and charge the rest to your [card_type] ****XXXX”.
    *NOTE* If you select No or hit Back, the full amount is charged to the card and the purchase is completed.
