Users in family account and access to games

I was wondering how access to copies of the game on the Xbox One X HDD is suppose to work for users in my family account. I went through to set up a family user so they could play one of my games and when they logged into their account to play, it had
to download the game again even though it was already downloaded for my account in the family. Is this suppose to be how it works? Seems like it would eat up the hard drive quickly. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand have questions with game sharing. It is possible if the game is on an external hard drive it wasn't recognized when they went to play so asked them to install again. You can check the

home console page to make sure it set up correctly also. Could it also of been an update for the game? If not played in a while the game would most likely have an update. Some updates can be pretty big too.

Thanks again. Like others have also mentioned, I set my family users as the home box as well. It seems to be working as intended so hopefully that is the end of problem. I appreciate all the replies.

Hello soccer,

I would reccomend going into your main console and setting it to home console and that means any other consoles with your account signed in will let you play all the games that the home console has!
