Username taken by my other account

To whom it may concern,

I am having an issue where a username I have previously tried to enter on my old account is now registering as taken on my new one when I go to change it. I originally was trying to change it on the original, but then discovered there was a $9.99 fee, which
caused me to exit out the payment window. I am trying to reserve the name BaggedSileighty once more on my new account, and I have even checked the search feature for anyone with a similar or the same name, but have turned up with zero results. Is there a way
to resolve this?

Recover the bad GT on your console and change the email address associated to it. (make sure its a good email address you can access)

Then recover the good GT and you should be all set.

When you create a Xbox Live/Games for Windows Live account, you'll given a default name, you can change that name whenever you like. It is not the same as your Hotmail address. My email address is not "ZenLikeCalm@____", it's
something else.

Incidently, you will not be able to use the name headlesslizard as it is already taken
by someone else.

@Juan Van, the OP is using a GFWL (PC) account, so it's highly likely that he doesn't have a console.

Yes, one of my Microsoft accounts DOES show up as owning the game. However it also has a "Profile Name" button under the Minecraft Java section on the My Games tab, and it tells me that my username is already taken when I enter the username I was using on my Java account before migration.

It can take some time for the servers to update to show that the tag has been freed up.

Okay? Well as I said the credentials are never gonna be the same, I used to login with the username, Xxxxxxxxxxxx and my email which is my microsoft login is cross-tied to an older account along with my mother's email

Is there a way to refund the older account 'Xxx79' and tie the newer account 'Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx' to my current email? Also no, I cannot properly log in anymore, I've ended up with a whole other account username called 'WeirdoWhisperer1' since WeirdoWhisperer was taken by me and idk what email, if any, it's tied to
