    Heyall, so I'm looking to change my username ie. the title.

    So when typing it in there is a result saying "This gamertag isn't allowed. Try a different one."

    I have contacted "Message with an Xbox Gamer" twice.

    First guy said oh just use a website it should be fine and told me why it may not work which is easy information to get.

    Second was helpful, gave me info on where to check reasons, where to try contact, and actually tried to help, he said he would send me a link through my linked email to a specialist? (Sorry I have no idea if these are Microsoft employees or just some Randoms
    I couldn't find a definitive definition anywhere)

    Im looking either

    a. to contact a "specialist"

    b. why is my username not allowed

    no-one comes up when searching in xbox, and it's not an offensive term in any of the research i have done trying to solve this on my own

    It is saying that this particular username is not allowed. When I remove a letter or two it allows it- but I want it this way and i’m not sure why it isn’t allowed by microsoft.

    I couldn't find any information regarding username changing/reverting anywhere so that's why I'm worried they straight up don't allow it. I had to ask here.

    The following comes up for that particular username:

    "This gamertag isn't allowed. Try a different one"

    That usually indicates that it is not allowed for whatever reason rather than it already being in use
