Username already taken

My daughter had been playing Minecraft using my account but recently created her own new account. She wants the player username she was using on my account to now be on hers. We changed it on mine, BUT when she goes to submit for the same name on her account, it says it's already taken. Please help!

It can take some time for the servers to update to show that the tag has been freed up.

Someone has already taken the username of your Gamertag. You will just have to use a different username on that website.

Recover the bad GT on your console and change the email address associated to it. (make sure its a good email address you can access)

Then recover the good GT and you should be all set.

Dirty Loco

When you create a Xbox Live/Games for Windows Live account, you'll given a default name, you can change that name whenever you like. It is not the same as your Hotmail address. My email address is not "ZenLikeCalm@____", it's
something else.

Incidently, you will not be able to use the name headlesslizard as it is already taken
by someone else.

@Juan Van, the OP is using a GFWL (PC) account, so it's highly likely that he doesn't have a console.

I would say they were infinite. Emails and usernames are created by the user, and if they are already taken, then you get a suggestion for your email, which you can use or make another one yourself, and for your username, a number is put on the end of it.
