    For about two weeks now I notice a problem with the user reviews in the Xbox Store (the app on the Xbox One). I wanted to wait for the official Spring 2018 update before I post it. But since it's still bugged I'm posting it now.

    When language and location setting don't match on the Xbox (in my case: English (US) and Germany) you pull the user reviews for games from the wrong database. You don't show the reviews from the selected location, but you consider the
    language setting and present user reviews from American customers. Also, when I post a review the review is not stored in the database for my location but goes to the one for America.

    I consider this to be a bad bug as everything store related should be looking at the selected
    location. As it did before. I think the change came about the same time when user reviews were all of a sudden posted anonymously.

    As I mentioned, I have the Spring 2018 update installed on an Xbox One S and the Store app got an update since then to version
    11803.1001.9.70.

    Why do I think it's a bug? Well, different countries favor different types of games. Also certain countries are very shy to critizize while in other countries it's normal to do so. That's why I'd like to see reviews from my fellow Germans without the need
    to set the language to German. Why don't I want this? It's the only way to get around bad game localization in all games (very few offer the choice of language)

    Please Microsoft, look into this and fix it.

    Blocks are displayed in the wrong language when language/location don't match

    Most of the time language and location on my Xbox don't match. Usually I set it to English US for language and Germany for location. With this setting the blocks on the bottom of the Home tab are using German instead of English. This happened when the Fall
    2017 update was in testing (I reported it to no avail), when the Fall 2017 update was rolled out to the masses, and now in the public Spring 2018 update as well.

    Why is this? I think everything except the Xbox Store should only consider the selected language to display UI resources. Who in the world thinks that looking at the location instead would be a good idea?

    Can’t redeem code

    Hi guys,

    just setup the xbox one x Gears5 and I redeem most of the cores that come with the console but not one.

    Gears of Wars 3 is code is saying that’s a language issue.

    Since all the others worked perfectly I believe there is something wrong with this one.

    Any tips?
    Should.be noted that account region and actual region and language region MUST match

    So if you are having england and french actual location and english language it wont work

    Your account regions primary language must match your console language

    Thank you for coming to the Xbox forums. I've researched this issue and found that this issue has been around for a while and the game gets bugged when your console's system location and language settings don't match. This is common if your preferred language
    is different than the native language of the country you reside in. For example, if your location is set to Canada and your language is set to English (United States), you're going to get the error. You need to set your language to English (Canada) so that
    it matches your location. I found two older reddit threads confirming this worked for them:

    No problem! For clarification, are you using your Apple TV as a cable box? Let's start with making sure your Language & Location settings on your Xbox One console match where you currently live.

    • On your Xbox One controller, press the Menu button and select Settings.
    • From Settings, go to System.
    • In the System menu, select Location.
    • From here you can change the settings to match your physical location.
    • Example: Language: Norsk, Location: Norway (Norge), etc.
    After everything is matched to your current physical location, try setting up OneGuide and let us know how everything goes!
