Use xbox Cloud gaming to play a Family Member

If you're referring to playing local multiplayer with a family member, you should know that it's currently not possible to use more than one controller at the same time while playing on Xbox Cloud Gaming, as you can confirm for yourself at the following link:

Similarly, it's important to note that to play on Xbox Cloud Gaming, a Game Pass Ultimate subscription is required, and only games from the cloud catalog can be played. Therefore, even if you purchase a game, it cannot be played on Xbox Cloud Gaming without the subscription, or if that specific game is not included in the cloud catalog (games in the cloud catalog are already included with Game Pass Ultimate, so there's no need to buy the game unless you want to play it while it's downloaded on your device).

I understand you need assistance with cloud gaming. Just to clarify, Xbox Family Group is not related to cloud gaming and is only used for managing family members' account restrictions. On an Xbox console, you can share your subscription with family members using the Home Xbox feature. However, please note that only the account that has the Game Pass Ultimate subscription will be able to access cloud gaming, as it is not shareable.

Then what exactly is the point of setting family members? It's so stupid I spent all the money on consoles and game pass but my kids can only use it on one console and can't use cloud games?

So we have four (4) family members on the XBox account. You are saying only my account will be able to play cloud games since the account is under my name?

And if we purchased a X/S console, then everyone could play the games?

Seems wildly silly if true. I mean, who cares which account is trying to play the game?

The standard sharing features apply to Xbox Play anywhere, which means, if the Xbox console you're playing on is that family member's "Home Console", then you can play it.

If you want to play it on a PC, it's a bit more complicated.

The family member has to make sure, you are a member of the family on
https://account.microsoft.com/family.

Also, the family member has to have an account on the PC you want to play the game on.

Then you will have to sign in with your own account on your PC and have the family member sign in with their family account on the Windows Store app under your account.

There they can then download and install the Play Anywhere game that you want to play which is on their own account.
