I have been using the Xbox app to try and change my profile picture, and as you should know, it isn't working. I don't have a computer so I won't be able to do anything that you can only do on computer. I haven't tried to screenshot the picture, then try to use the screenshoted picture as the profile picture.

Hi, it is not necessary to use a computer if you need to change your profile picture.
The Xbox mobile app has this feature, you can crop the screenshotted picture by using the gallery app available on your phone, or an online website.

Are you trying to change the profile picture using the Xbox mobile app, right?

If yes, this can be a bit dumb but please take an screenshot of the desired picture (Crop it after that if necessary)
Then use that screenshot instead of the original picture and check how it goes
