US XBSX work in Australia?

A buddy of mine is in love with my XBSX and wants to buy one, trouble is, he’s moving to Australia in a year and 1/2 and we’re not sure if he can use it or what he has to do to use it with different voltage.

All forum talk I can find is about the Xbox one which folks say you can use with an adapter for games but won’t play dvd or blue rays.

So I have 2 xbox ambassadors with different answers..I am very confused.

You just need to buy an Australian power cord. Do not use a voltage adapter, unless you’re using a professional model the consumer ones tap out at 45w, not the 300 you need

Disc based games are region free so any will work but dvd/blu ray is region locked so only dvd/blu ray from the U.S. region will work.

So just so I sound smart when I tell him:

The XBSX is dual voltage so just buy a power cord, DONT get a power converter.

The XBSX is not region locked so games from anywhere in the world will work on it

Now that everyone's gone to HDMI, there's also no issue with PAL/NTSC as far as a US XBSX hooking up to an Australian TV? (and yes, i'm pushing him towards one with HDMI 2.1 capability..lol).

Lastly: DVD's? Blu-Ray? will Aussie ones work?

here in germany we have the same voltage like in Australia. When people wanted to use an US console they needed a voltage converter. The problem is, if you use them wrong they can cause fire !

I would recommend him to wait and to buy an australien version or if he can afford it, to buy an US console and to sell it before he moves there. But I guess in next years black friday or holiday sale the XBSX might become cheaper and he would make a big loss !
