US only discounts and competitions

Why does the US always get the discounts such as $10 off of controllers where as Europe and all over the world get absolutely nothing? It isn’t good enough Microsoft is an international company for a reason and that is to offer the same sale/ promotion
everywhere so why don’t they do that, us in the U.K. and mainland Europe never get anything and surely this must change we are fed up of the US only sales you advertise on twitter and if you take a look at the replies everyone is complaining about it being
US only get a grip Xbox!

Xbox One Games not included with US

For us X1 costs 539€, we don't have apps like Youtube and the now decontinued family plan never worked here so we couldn't get a discount on our kids accounts. Plus all the competitions and give aways are always about USA.

The DRM change... why do a lot of people who respected, and looked forward to the great ideas that came with DRM suffer.

Werty - while i agree that steam would have been good, it is because of direct competition on the pc market, Valve, Origin, Onlive, GoG, Gaikai. All sell and offer discounts and compete with each other.

But with the system the way it was on Xbox One, there would be no competition, because Microsoft would be the only seller. They could set prices they way they wanted. That is what competition is good for.

If they could let over companies come onboard the Xbox one and distribute the same digital media as everyone else there would be a digital price war, and that would benefit everyone.

Hi, actually there was discounts for controllers (including design your own controller, currently down to a new price of £59.99) , and other Xbox hardware during the last ultimate game sale, and that was for everyone. Plus sometimes you can find them cheaper
from 3rd party stores anyway (amazon, ebay, etc, etc)

I’m on about a new promotion that the US gets $10 off of a controller and it’s not part of a sale or anything they’ve just gave them the discount where as we get nothing.

It's due to a non competitive policy with retail.

Like buying something at Sony Central, as opposed to going to a major retail chain and getting a substantial discount.
