    Urgent Call for South African Servers in Sea of Thieves!


    Attention, Sea of Thieves community! I've fallen head over heels for this game, and it's become my gaming obsession. Sadly, I'm constantly stuck with high ping, ranging from 240 to 300. After some research, I discovered a three-year-old post mentioning upcoming South African servers, but the patch note was later removed, leaving us in the dark. Can we get some clarity, please? Are South African servers still on the horizon? If you're reading this, please upvote to show the SoT team our collective voice from South Africa. Let's make our needs known and bring the joy of low ping to our shores!

    Greetings!

    Thank you for publishing in Microsoft Community.

    We understand that you need help with Sea of Thieves servers. As a gamer I truly understand how important to have an own server that where you can have smooth gameplay and low ping.

    However when it comes to adding a server in game, unfortunately Microsoft doesn't have control with that because the only one who can add or manage in game servers is the game studios which the Rare (Game Developer). They have the access to the server and have the right tool to manage the game.

    For this kind of suggestion, we really highly recommend to contact directly the Rare team or submit a ticket to them.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for responding!

    I did actually contact them first and they said that I better come to you guys instead, funny enough. Apparently because they use Azure servers which is controlled by Microsoft? Not really sure. Is there any other way you would be able to help me?

    Get on Battlelog and search for South African platoons, I have a few South Africans on my friends list and they have their own server but I cant remember the name off the top of my head.

    There aren't any South African, Middle-Eastern and South American servers I'm afraid. :/

    European servers would be your best bet for the least laggy games.
