Urgent Appeal for Gamertag Reclamation – "DeathOmega"

Dear Microsoft Support,

I am reaching out with a formal request regarding the gamertag DeathOmega. This name has been my in-game alias for the past 6–7 years, and I have substantial proof of my consistent use of it. Unfortunately, when I attempted to register this gamertag for my Microsoft account, I discovered that it was already taken.

I firmly believe that the current holder of this gamertag may have acquired it after seeing me use it in other games. If the account associated with this gamertag has been inactive for several years, I strongly urge Microsoft to either release it for reuse or request the current user to change it.

This name is not just a tag for me—it is my identity in the gaming world. Being forced to modify it destroys its originality and uniqueness, making it feel like a mere imitation of what is rightfully mine. It is unjust that someone who likely had no prior connection to this name should be allowed to claim it permanently while I, its rightful long-term user, am denied access.

I expect Microsoft to review this matter seriously and take appropriate action in line with its policies on inactive accounts and gamertag disputes. I appreciate your prompt attention to this issue and look forward to your response.

There's no way to request a gamertag. All you can do is either wait for tbe oroginal owner to change it to something else so it gets freed up by the system or if the accoumt truley is inactive, it will be freed up by the system at some poing. Since accounts can be used on multiple Microsoft services, there's no way to know for sure how long it has been inactive or if it is.

first of all this is a community forum. We could just give advice or where you might get some help.

There is no copyright for gamertags. And I guess such a combination of usual alias words (like: Killer, Ninja, Darth, Dark, Ghost, Shadow, Demon etc.) is in use for far more than 6 or 7 years.

There is a charge for changing your gamertag. Not really seeing it as being urgent for anyone.
