    Upgrading from gold to game pass ultimate on a child's account.


    My child has a xbox 1 and I have the one x. He is on our family account. He has loaded money onto his account and is trying to upgrade from gold to the game pass ultimate. When prompted to join a message stating a parent must do this appears. How can we
    upgrade his subscription?

    Gold join Ultimate (without the $1)

    Since you would be upgraded to Ultimate from Gold, it will convert the Gold at a ratio of 1:1. The conversion table is only if you are adding Gold or Game Pass to an Ultimate account.

    When you upgrade from standard Gold/Game Pass to Game Pass Ultimate, you upgrade at a ratio of 1:1.

    The 3:1 conversion ratio is what happens when you already have Ultimate and are adding standard Gold/Game Pass to Ultimate.

    I had Game Pass Ultimate from November to February, then cancelled it. I never did the Live Gold to GPU conversion. Can I do that if I sign up for Game Pass again?

    Yes it will. If you are upgrading from a standard gold or game pass to Ultimate, it will upgrade at a ratio of 1:1. The FAQ does mention a different conversion ratio, but that is if you currently have Ultimate and are adding a standard gold or game pass.

    Hello Laura, this message appears because your child's account is a child and it is not enable for purchases, in which case you can put your child's account in a Family and enable the purchase of the subscription for their account.

    The other way to uprgrade from Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate would be to buy a 25-digit Game Pass Utimate card and redeem it in your child's account, so the time he has of Gold will convert to Ultimate.
