If you missed the free upgrade, the only way to upgrade would be to purchase the upgrade.

You would have to purchase it digitally in order to be able to play it on a Series S.

Unfortunately that is how upgrading works. You can not just pay the difference

You can still try to get a refund and buy the right suscription

You may be eligible to cancel your recurring subscription and request a refund, but not all subscription purchases are eligible for a refund. If you qualify for a refund, you will see the option to cancel immediately and request a refund when reviewing your subscription status.

Head on over to https://account.microsoft.com/services

Sign into your Microsoft account and choose the Services and Subscription tab on the web page

Find the subscription you would like to cancel.

Click Manage.

Check if you are elegible for a refund

After you submit your request, you’ll receive confirmation and follow-up emails that’ll include instructions on how you can keep track of the status of your request. They should send you a response within a few days.

The internal hard drive will never be something you can upgrade - that would void the warranty.

But you will eventually be able to add external storage to increase capacity.

The Xbox One does not currently support external storage. Hopefully soon.
