Upgrade from an X-Box 360 to an X-Box One

Hello, Can anyone help as I want to play online games with my Grandson? I currently have an X-Box 360 with 5/6 games and he has an X-Box One - so Microsoft has advised me that we have to have the same console. So, I was wondering the following:

How much is the trade-in from MS for making the upgrade of is it better to buy a new X-Box One and sell my X-Box 360 ion eBay or at a Gamer shop once they re-open?

Will my X-Box 360 games play on a new X-Box One console?

The trade in for the XBOX 360 is not high. You get more for it when you sell the XBOX 360 via Ebay. But you can play XBOX 360 games with your grandson, if he has them and these are also backwards compatible to XBOX One e.g. many Lego games etc.

As an older generation console trade-in is all dependant on supply and demand and can differ so can not help with providing much more info on that, however, you check to see if your Xbox 360 games are back-compatible

here. This has the full list of games available to play on Xbox One.

I can verify that x-box one games will transfer from web to the x box one. The free game of the month will only work on the 360 there is no backwards compatibility feature on the x box one as of yet.
