    Updating to series X version from a one version on external hdd does not work very well.


    Yesterday I updated Gears 5 and Forza Horizon 4 for the series X.

    Both games were from my one X on an external HDD, both games got moved on the internal SSD in the process.

    Since they needed that, I wasn't surprised.

    But:

    1 - I now have 2 installations of each game, 1 on each drive. Updating to series X version from a one version on external hdd does not work very well. o_O

    2 - size of the game in the (still really bad) manager is totally busted. Having 2 Forza 84Go install + DLC do not equals 85 GO.

    3 - Games were full of errors. Gears load but I have only access to training and characters and guns have textures error. Did not try to play. Forza did not show the video on title screen and hard crashed on loading after asking for an update I already done for Fortune Island.

    Gears 5 total reinstall on series X is 72.4 GOs, the 2 previous installation were both in the 55 GOs.



    Boths seems to work fine after deleting and reinstalling everything.

    This method did not work for me, it still downloaded the series x/s version of the game to my external hdd and would not play it.

    There are 3 versions

    Standard which does not include series x but is playable as a xbox one title on serirs x yes that's why there are 79 dollar regular and 89 and up for gold and over

    Gold and ultimate which includes crossgen

    Keep in mind the game MUst bw installed on the internal storage or the storage card not a external hdd

    They released that game as a One version and as a Series S/X version. The Series S/X version will only work on a Series S/X.

    They're separate. The Series S/X version will not work on the One, but the One version will work on the One and Series S/X.
