updating gold membership

I wanted to update my gold membership and I have tried doing through my xbox 360 by it said that it will not select this option which was my debit card. So I went online a bought a code to redeem which was a 12 month plan. I put the code in, It said what
card it was and then I continued, then it showed me something went wrong. so I put in error code and nothing is not up.

Not at all happy with Xbox

I bought Xbox and gold membership to hours of fun gaming.......not to spend hours continually updating! Not happy Jan!!!!!!!

My son has a gold membership on his 360. I don't have a gold membership. If I add my son's profile to my new Xbox One, then it will give me gold membership as well?

You are showing a silver membership here. If you want to play online multiplayer you will need a Gold membership.

Ok, so you updated your email, and paid for a Gold membership, but put the Gold membership on the wrong account?

If that is the case, that is unfortunate as Gold memberships are not transferable between accounts.

If I am off, please clarify, and we can work from there.
