Updating Destiny 2 just uninstalled the game.

Why? I understand that xbox has issues with game updates. Like when updates don't appear and you have to reset your console multiple times. But I now have to wait 2 hours because its a 88 GB download.

How exactly are you prompting the update on your Xbox? Automatically or by going into "My games and Apps"?

A game will uninstall itself if the game's most recent update version is canceled or interrupted while it is updating. This can happen if the console loses power during an update, which is the most common cause. The other would be a network interruption
that stops the update and causes the update to get corrupted, requiring a cancelation of the update, therefore the entire game uninstalls. However it happens, if an update is removed from the queue, the entire game will need to be re-installed again.

i was trying to install the update for destiny 2 but my console restarted for no reason and this happened

That's what would have caused it to be uninstalled then. If an update is cancelled it will uninstall the entire game. All you can do is reinstall it.

Kindly uninstall the game and then just install the Destiny 2 base game only before installing the Witch Queen DLC.
