Updating a installed instance of Forza Horizon 5 forces a full game download instead.

I guess we won't know until the next update arrives. For now the game is installed and working through the Xbox app.

Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

The update released today yesterday is 14gb. Since the update has already started I'll suggest you let it finish as interrupting it might break the download and it might be default to remove.

After the installation is complete, Try to reset the Microsoft store

1. Open the settings by pressing the Windows + i keys

2. Go to Apps> Applications and features.

3. Select the Microsoft Store application and then click Advanced Options.

4. Click the Reset button.

5. Confirm the reset by clicking on Reset again.

6. Go back to the Microsoft Store and check if it works properly again.

This is what helped me and got Forza to download.
1. Go into the Microsoft Store and search Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition.
2. Next you want to click on Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition and you want to click Install from the Xbox app.
3. This will take you to the Xbox app and when it takes you to the Forza game scroll down and look at the tab named "Included in this bundle" And click Forza Horizon 5.
4. This should take you to the regular Forza Horizon 5 game rather than the Standard Edition, And then you want to click install and this should download the game.
