Updating a Game hangs at Download at 0% Indefinitely

It seems like you are having trouble downloading games on the Xbox app after upgrading to Windows 11. As per description, you have done most of the basic troubleshooting available but still the issue persists.

Let us check on this together and sort this out to assist your concern. However, before we proceed, we would like to ask few questions about it.

1. When did the issue start?
   
2. Was this working before?
   
3. Recent activity or changes made before the issue appeared?
   
4. Do you mind sending a screenshot to us here, minimizing some of your personal information?
   

These above questions would help us provide the necessary information. Once we have gathered all the information, we will formulate the viable solution to help you with your case.

For the meantime, we will check on this and do some steps to fix the issue.

One possible solution is to repair the Xbox app by following these steps:

1. Press Windows key + I to launch Windows Setting.
   
2. Select the Apps menu and click on Installed Apps.
   
3. Scroll down to Xbox and click on the three-dot menu and select Advanced options.
   
4. Select Repair under the Reset menu.

If this doesn’t work, you can try logging out of the Xbox app and Microsoft Store app, then look for the Xbox app and Microsoft Store app in the Windows menu, right-click, click app settings and then click terminate, restore and reset. You can also try clearing the store cache by typing “wsreset” in the Windows bar, run as admin, and wait for the screen to close and open the store automatically.

If none of these solutions work, you can try checking your internet connection speed and stability as it’s impossible to navigate the Xbox app or download games with a weak internet connection.

The reason the percentage hangs at 0 is because there is a game update that is taking place BEFORE the install takes place. You get no notification of the game update or progress bar and it will just sit at 0% with nothing on the download queue. You just
need to wait it out and once the game update is complete the install percentage will begin. When you go offline and install, there is no update because there is no connection, but as soon as you connect online again it will pull the game update. Hopefully
there will be an update so this progress can be monitored.

Ditto to all the above. Up-to-date Windows, up-to-date drivers (GTX 1080). Hangs at 25% indefinitely and restarting the game had no effect.
