You don't like updates and your answer to this is to switch to Sony… that is hilarious on so many levels. Sony is the king of updates. The problem with their updates is… I have absolutely no idea what they do. On ONE… every update comes with extensive improvements
    and added features.

    You make 0 sense.

And guess what else? You can actually PLAY the PS4 while that system updates. Do you guys just like looking at the XBone update screen while you can't do anything? Yeah, I'd like to see you defend that. You can't. If I could freaking play my XBone while
these endless updates rolled out if at least be complacent about it. But a full time college student and I don't have time to sit around wasting my time. Instead of having a legitimate discussion about something that can improve this second place system,
you all decided to come in and defend it while offering zero solutions or ideas.

You never told us specifically what is being updated? System or games? System updates occur once a month (unless you are in the preview program, in which case, that was YOUR choice to do so)...and unless you have dial-up internet, load/install fairly quickly.
My system updates have not even come close to a 20 GB combined size. If game updates are your issue, good luck with that. All consoles are doing this, most games have large day one patches. And yes, I can and do play games while updates are loading. Best of
luck, and you should probably be a little less bitter....not every post in this thread was hostile nor hateful, there were many asking for clarification and offering tips to ease the load...

  5. ^ I have not had to look at my Xbox One update once besides the very first day one update and I am in the preview program where I get updates pretty consistently. You get ONE update a month(unless you agree to be in the preview program. Then you asked for
it) and its never come where close to being 20GBs.

You're just trying to find something to complain about and your arguments are really pathetic.

I said SYSTEM update. Did you not read what I posted or do people have to tell you twice? Well get out your paper and pen cause I'll explain it again. EVERY week this summer I've had a 1900+MB update. For at least the last 10 weeks. You do the math. I've
even take pictures of the updates as they happen just to prove it. Don't know why it's just me. I'm not in the preview program. Honestly, I think I must be stuck in a loop and it's giving me the same one over and over again. But I PROMISE you

    Not exaggerating.

So you have a problem with your machine, it happens sometimes. Maybe check in with support to see if there is a solution? Maybe replace it before the warranty expires? Not everything sold is infallible.

PS- your first post does not have the word SYSTEM anywhere in it.

I haven't seen a download occur in over 6 months, see intant-on mode. If you've a data cap then it sure may be annoying, but for me it's perfect, everything updated in the background without ever having to sit and wait.

If he recently bought forza, dead rising 3 and the sniper game that is a whopping about of download already gone. All three have updates ranging from 2-16 gig. Add into the equation of a few system updates as well and the op does have a sound argument and
it isn't as farfetched. If you want to buy a Playstation 4 go right ahead, ultimately it is solely your decision OP as it is one of those personal choice kind of thing. Being that the constant update stuff is annoying you maybe that is the right idea.

OP - you need to be clear, as someone else has asked already - are you talking about System updates (which only happen once a month) or, more likely, you're talking about Game updates.

If Game updates - NOTHING to do with MS, suggest you avoid those game dev/publishers in future as they are at fault (and will also be the case on PSBore). (And BTW, yes people have complained and posted about Game update sizes before).
