Updates? On our leased digitally downloaded games?

So before the moderators decide to respond with links most people on this site have already seen, you have promised to provide constant updates. The last one was over two hours ago. That is not constant. So what's up? Was information hacked? or is the
fact that xbox/Microsoft dealing with the hangover of not giving ownership verification to the user? In simple terms effectively parading a false sense of ownership as ultimately leasing.

this just goes to show dont buy a big library of digitally downloaded games you wont be able to resell later....because once xbox 2 comes out...all these over priced leased digital games probably wont be able to work on xbox 2.

By the time XB2 comes out.. I am pretty dam sure we would be able to play all our digital games we bought for XB1....either on the XB1, XB2 Cloud or PC... since they are digital.. just store them all on one portable drive... and carry your XB1 collection
on your key chain.... instead of lugging around a milk crate full of scratched discs

Sorry xbox. This is not an update. This is reiteration. What is going on with the contact we OWN?

 

They are having an issue with being able to verify that you own the game.

Also I posted this as a question but a moderator changed it to a discussion. Let me make myself clear I am asking those Microsoft employs that monitor this forum respectively to truthfully answer these questions. Not discuss them.

 

Why is this even a problem if the game it tied to my account i bought it so i should be able to play said game

 

What do I have to show you my credit card statement to prove that I bought? What about the other thousands of people that xbox "can't verify that THEY own the game". Seriously, this is a non-answer at best, and at worst confirms what I am saying.

 

Whats worse is this isnt even the first time this has happend. are they ever going to actually fix this or are they just tring to get more money by makeing you buy the disc? just so we can play a game that they “can’t verify” that we own

 

Xbox does not want to elaborate on that so I'm sorry but I don't have an answer to that.

 

the problem has already been fixed in Oregon, other states will follow.

As an Xbox user myself I find this to be frustrating but please wait a few minutes.

 

I've been a loyal xbox consumer for 13 years and probably will be for the future, but problems like this especially around how it involves ownership rights is very concerning. I would hope that this company would not follow suit to the legal precedents
being currently fought by the likes of John Deer and the music industry. I firmly believe that if Microsoft gave ownership verification to the user they would not only set a brave industry precedent but would be far more popular for it. Do the right thing.

 

Its back up in wisconsin but now its to late for me to play ive been waiting for 3 hours for this to be fixed my only play time this week and it was wasted waiting for a issue that shouldnt even exist
