  1. Updates - home button and multi-media users

So I am a harmony remote user with whole home control, voice commands (via connect), and NOT a gamer. I purchased the Xbox One because it was designed to be the "One" piece of equipment to rule them all.

Not only is it a game console (who cares), but a device that brings your multi-media experience together under one device.

In the beginning things worked great. Then we were forced to upgrade to the windows 10 platform. That was a big change that took away some functionality but was great for the gamers.

Again Microsoft pushed some updates taking away voice control within some apps. Gamers don't care, but the other half does. And now with the change to the way the functionality of the home button works we are again behind the curve in communications and
    commands on the multi-media side.

When is Microsoft going to stop catering change to the gamers and stand by there marketing promises to the rest of the world who spent hundreds of dollars on the "one" for their actual multi-media needs?

I have spoken to Microsoft several times regarding the changes as they happen. I get the response every time that they don't know why the engineers decided to do that.....? Or that's just the way it is......

Anyone else tired of the changes and the lack of support for the non-gaming use of the "one"?

    :)

  2. Latest Update Xbox "Home" button issue

I frequently use the media player to watch movies from my flash drive in my Xbox One S, after the latest update, I've noticed that if I'm watching a video, and press the home button to multi-task or check the time, the media player app simultaneously activates
the chapter forward function at the same time that the home menu is opening. Not a big deal, but a bit bothersome. Is there a fix in the works for this?

i like the multi motors for feedback. the heartbeat seems neat(the demo) i kinda wish it had a small speaker dedicated to voice inbetween the view/home button.

Proof of life for the gamers LoL (notice the dust)

As you can see the only button I have had to use so for is the "Home" button and now the "A", but only because they keep making dumb changes for a few users and not users as a whole. Would be nice if Microsoft cared about all it's customers.

Are you a gamer or someone who is going to enjoy the multi-media aspect of an all-in-one hardware device?

    xbox one media remote

    Hi.

When you are using an app and want to get back to the Xbox home screen with the media remote, tap the Power On/Home button (the big "Xbox" button at the top) to reveal the guide and select "Home."

If you wish to completely close an app, press the Power On/Home button to access the guide, navigate the guide to highlight the app you wish to close, tap the Menu (hamburger) button, and navigate to "Quit" on the context menu.

Multi users under same "parent" home xbox

In that setup, your son should make your "house" Xbox his Home console, and purchase everything for you and your nephew.

Since your son is the only person using the college Xbox, he can use everything he buys with his own account as long as he's online.

So he can play the games he purchased on any console he signs on to (including his college Xbox and your "house" Xbox).

Then your son shares his purchases and memberships with the Xbox console in your house, and everyone that plays on that console (including you and your nephew) can play your son's games and Gold memberships.

Alternatively: You can set the college console as your own Home Console, and share your games with your college son. As long as you are signed in (if necessary with a second controller) on the house console (or basically any console), your nephew can play
your games as well on the same console you're currently signed on.

Just make sure, that when you leave your nephew unattended with your account signed in, that you disallow your account to send messages, and to prevent unauthorized purchases.

Otherwise your account can get suspended for messages your nephew sent in your name, and pay for purchases your nephew made on your account.
