Update Xbox series X OS system for all buttons switches dials toggles and Rev lights Work...

You may have tried to turn the console on while it is completing a System (OS) update.

I do a lot of OS updates each week (Alpha Skip Ahead Insider) and know that if the fan is blowing air out of the top of my Series X when I try to turn it on, it is updating the System OS.

Depending on what stage the update is at, Downloading, Verifying or Applying, lights on the console will flash. If you see lights flashing on the console it means the update is rebooting to do the Applying stage of the update. This takes a couple of minutes and then console will go back to Standby mode and the light will go out as in off.

You can now turn the console back on.

This sounds like the OS update step between Verifying and Applying a System update.

If its a Xbox 1 X or earlier this flashing will last about 12 -15 times and then the console will restart and Apply the update.

If the console is a Series X/S the flashing lasts about 5 times before it Applies the update.

Do I need to toggle a switch? Or, does the Series X detect the voltage??

I’m not sure how to reach these settings, but I’m quite certain it is not an issue with my router. My series x has worked for months before now, and all other devices on the network are working, including my Xbox one and Xbox one x. I have been having this issue since roughly the time that my series x last updated, is it possible that the issue is an overlooked bug in the series x OS?

I am having this same issue. Mine started about a week and a half ago, soon after the latest OS update to my series x. similarly, it works fine with my hotspot. My family has a Xbox one, and one x, which are having no issues, but my series X is having issues. I’m guessing it must be a bug in the operating system, but please keep the thread updated if you find a solution!
