    Update not working. Freezes or just doesn't move forward


    When I turned my Xbox on this morning, it will not update. It just stays at the screen to choose to start the update indefinitely until I turn the system off. I am unable to make a selection or even move between them.

    The one time it loaded to the dashboard and I tried to start the update manually so I could go online, it just... Sat at no activity again, until I restarted the system.

    Any suggestions?

    Between this, an apparent power issue yesterday (console wouldn't power on at first. Would just flash the power button severwl times, then shut off), the gamepass app not letting me remote install (until last night), and random game crashes, I've had more problems with the console since I got it back from repair. Coincidence?

    Eta: the videos are short, but I left it sitting at both screens for 10+ minutes. The startup one, multiple times so far.

    I do have 2FA, I have recently updated my mobile number but it is in place.

    That's right I enter my password and I'm just stuck with that screen doesn't move forward.

    I appreciate the answers, but unfortunately it's impossible to even get to the point to remove the account since the console freezes immediately on start up and doesn't not move. I ended up taking it to a local repair shop and had it be factory reset, just
    hope that works.

    Did the game ask you to perform an update? Doesn't seem like you need an update since your friend was able to play, but i would make sure that you perform the update if there is one before moving forward with this issue.

    Played with it for a while last night just browsing and moving around the dash. I have to say it works faultlessly on my Android S3 with the new jelly bean update. Looking forward to seeing how it will work with compatible games now.
