    I know this was an issue a while back, but I've just gotten Ark for my XBox One and was immediately hit with this when I installed the game.

    Right as the (first) install started it said it would need an update of a nice big 130 GB + if I'm remembering right, and I accepted it to install at the time. For some reason this first install was constantly stopping, and to fix it I stopped that install, deleted all the data that managed to get on, turned off wifi and installed the game that way. Turned wifi back on, tried to open the game to get the update, and it hit me with that 'updated needed but we can't get it now' issue.

    Uninstalled, reinstalled with wifi enabled. For some reason it worked this time, but I didn't see the update in the cue despite accepting it again. Still got the error. Uninstalled again (and I am making sure I clear all the cache and whatnot for Ark when I uninstall it), reinstalled, still got error. Reset my entire console back to factory (kept my games and apps) and reinstalled, STILL got the damn error.

    Ended up just turning off wifi again and it let me play. But I want to access some of the free maps that, if I'm not mistaken, come with the update, and would really like my saves to be stored in the cloud.

    Is there any way to fix this at this point? I bought the game brand new, in packaging, as a disk from a store in person, so I don't think it's an issue with the disk itself unless the problem is just tied to using the disk version of the game.

    Was really looking forward to this game, so any help would be appreciated.

    I appreciate you letting me know. In this case, resetting the console keeping the games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

    Reset and keep my games & apps.

    Hi kevinbishop7, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    Kindly try to uninstall the game then install the digital version through Xbox App by simply searching for the game then click "Download to my console". Once fully installed please insert the disc then try to play the game.
