    Since July 2019 update, my Xbox x will not recognize my wd external hdd. I have done all steps already as per your site with no luck. Help please. Used my friends seagate hdd and it was recognized.

    I have same issue with a HDD, i only format my hdd and works again.

    Just to be sure, did you try to format the HDD?

    The HDD Works with your PC?

    Are you in the Xbox Insider Preview program?

    Try unplugging the HDD, and power cycle the console, go to guide, settings tab and select restart console. Then plug the HDD back in.

    Since there hasn't been a public update released in July, I am presuming you're in the Insiders Program. As such, you'll need to report the bug using the "Report a problem" feature on your console, or at the Insiders subreddit at /r/xboxinsiders … they will
    help you figure out what has gone wrong.

    There's an ongoing issue with external HDD's after the last update.

    Supposedly it's being worked on, but we've had no updates in days. Coincidentally, most people are reporting issues with Seagate external drives....

    I'm sorry, but how does having a working external HDD then after an update a nonworking HDD constitute us having to do this BS?

    I had a perfectly fine Xbox One with all my games on my external HDD and this morning after and update... A POS.

    Please realize this is bigger than 1 person issue.
