    Update is downloading the whole game again


    For the second time in a month I've been prompt to update Call of Duty on my Xbox Series X. Once the update starts it give me a 204.51GB download which is the entire game, even though everything is already installed.

    This is getting very frustrating considering the time it takes to download a file that big on Xbox.

    Is anyone else having this problem and if so how do you fix it? So far I've only noticed it with Call of Duty.

    Particularly annoying when downloads on my network are throttled to sub 5Mbps.

    I have a digital copy and they reset the game on their end and made me uninstall the whole game and download it again. The new download included the patch so I didn't get prompted to download it again.

    It was a pain to have to download 50GB + again but that's how I fixed it. Some people were able to get the update to download other ways but it was definitely a problem update for a lot of people.

    I dont know if it happens with other games on xbox App because i only have trópico and rainbow six installed right now both of them In disc D:.

    Only trópico needed an update so i downloaded the update and then it redownloaded the whole game as i said.

    If you talk about updates of games from other platforms they download without any problem.

    Also i downloaded and installed trópico with a clean install again in disc D: earlier and when the download finished, it said it needed an update an started the whole download over again.

    Never cancel an update, only ever pause it.
    Cancelling it results in the entire game being deleted, thus requiring a complete new download of the whole game again.
