Update for Minecraft broke my nether portal system

With me my system now freezes every single time I try and enter the Nether Portal. I even broke the portal down and moved it to a different location. Didn't help, frozen Xbox everytime now. The portals in my pre update worlds still work fine. but not
in the worlds post update!

I had the same problem, my brother and I were in the Nether World, he was able to exit but every time I tried the game/console would lock-up.

I fixed my problem by logging in another Local gamer tag and entering a split screen game, the other gamer was able to enter the Nether World and exit. So he entered stayed in the Nether World and my avatar left the portal then the other user returned the
the "Real" world. I saved the game with myself in the real world...

Ok here's an UPDATE! from my original post! First I went into 2 previous worlds built before the update and in both worlds I was able to enter the Nether with no problems. So just to make sure location wasn't an issue, I went into my newest world post update
and I Moved the Nether Portal from it's ground floor location to way up on a hill behind my house far from its original location. Reassembled the portal and YEP Froze again. So this has to be related to the update. I can't imagine that my perticular world
is glitched because there's no other problems accept entering the Nether!

The block ratio is 3 to 1. I played around with it for a few hours last night and figured out the issue. My portal in the Nether from my original portal in the overworld was what the game used every time I went into the Nether. When I tried to go back, it
couldn't find a portal in range as my portal in the overworld that was too far away. So it respawned one in the original spawn point. After figuring out the cooridinates of the portal I wanted to use. I divided it by 3 and found that coordinate in the Nether
and built a new portal there. It brought me back through the overworld portal that I wanted. I then proceeded to destroy the old portals on both worlds to get rid of them, extended my minecart track to the new portal in the nether and was set to go.

For others interested in how the math works. My overworld X and Z coordinates on the map were -345 and 97 respectively. So dividing by 3 you got -115 and 32 on the map in the nether. if you build a portal within the range, of 35 blocks either way, it will
place you where you want to be. You can also build a portal in nether far away from your original portal and it will spawn you back in the overworld at a new location presumably far away from your current one. We did this and it put us half way across the
map.

Once you build a nether portal, and go to the nether, there should be nether fortresses in the nether , lol you have to find them though
