Update Fail / E101 / Omega Ring Preview Build - Cannot update

This version is a Insider Omega ring OS so an Offline system update using OSU1 file will fail every time with an error. You need to unenroll the console from the Insiders previews.

E101 points to a hardware issue with the console.

You could try this....

If your using ethernet disconnect it from the console and perform a Factory refresh and delete everything.

If successful the console setup should start. You'll need your account details.

If you keep getting E101 the console needs repairing.

Thanks for the reply. I have no idea how an 11-year-old got himself enrolled in the Insider Omega ring, but I'll definitely look into that. Now for a dumb question: if the system cannot boot up to the home screen, how would it know that it's no longer in the Insider program?

EDIT: I installed the Insider Hub on a PC and signed in using his Microsoft account. It shows that this device isn't enrolled.

These are the latest Xbox OS and also the Beta, Delta and Omega rings of Insider Preview Program are also on the latest release
to General Availability builds.

Change the Insider preview ring your console is enrolled in.

According to the link provided above the last update for General Availability was in July.

If your console is completely turned off and power removed, your console will miss the regular system updates for the preview, usually about 600-700 MB. If you miss a preview update and another is released the complete OS system, about 4.5 GB, will need to be downloaded to ensure the console has the latest update for that preview ring.

I'm in Alpha Skip Ahead preview and manually do at least 3 updates a week.

The other preview rings have less updates each week and the Omega ring has the least.

If you don't like the constant updates to the System OS it may be to your advantage to unenroll the console from the Insiders program.

As I mentioned, if it's not among the ones listed, you should use OSU1

Except that the OP is running an Insiders build (the OS build information is the latest Insiders update) so your advice will likely lead to a broken console!

What the OP posted is a match to the lastest Omega ring update (also seems to match all the updates from all the rings) from 4th February, unless I am missing something:

As an Insiders You gotta make a report for all the bugs You see, You must be in Alpha Ring, this ring is the most unstable, but not more than Alpha Skip Ahead, when You decided to join the Insider Program You knew there were a lot of bugs in the preview
OS, You can change another Ring, Beta, Delta or Omega, but the most stable of them is the Omega ring, now it's You who decid which ring You Will choose to recieve updates or If You Will choose to recieve updates like a normal user.
