"Update Error Lock"

I'm going to be out-of-town for a few days so I figure "Hey, I should download a few games and take my XboxOne. That'll be fun."

I download three games and begin updating a few already on the console. All of a sudden,

"Update time!

More good stuff awaits. It's going to take a few minutes, but it's worth it.

The size of the update is around 411 MB (connect time charges may apply).

Some apps may update after."

Options are:

"Start update," "Skip & stay offline," and "Turn off Xbox"

I think, "Sure, okay. I've had bad luck before, but here's to hoping this goes smoothly." I select "Start update." My console then decides that to crawl to ~22% then leap to 98% and finish the download at the original pace during the "Downloading
update - ### MB remaining" phase.

The "Verifying update" phase crawls to a "Verification complete" with the main progress bar at the bottom of the screen getting to ~52%. The screen then goes black with the power button on the face of the console flashing at a slow
rhythm for about 2 mins, until eventually turning off. The controller then begins to rumble in a slow, periodic fashion (0.5 sec rumble, no rumble for ~5 secs, 0.5 rumble, in a cycle). The controller does this for approx. 10 mins. The controller then goes
completely silent. I leave this for 30 mins.... no change.

The console turns off and does not come back on. The error code I receive on restoring power "x8b050033 0x00000000 0x00000201."

On searching this code on Google, the results I find refer to it as an "Update Error Lock."

Any suggestions?

Freezing at Connecting to EA Online

I had a "download this" pop on disc launch it was a 4mb update...just locks up after sign in error.

 

Minecraft Update Error

I went to try out Minecraft on xb1 today. I updated it to the latest patch and it freezed my xbox. I shut it down completely and then I restarted the console. Tried to play minecraft again and now the game won't start. Anyone else get this problem?
