    Update bricked my Xbox one


    The latest update bricked my Xbox one. I got startup error e103, I tried all the troubleshooting, including a factory reset, available online and the error switched to start up error e100. gamer support informed me that my only option is to pay 100s of dollars to my local best buy and hope they can fix it, since it's out of warranty.

    Is paying 100s of dollars to fix my Xbox, that Microsoft bricked with an update, really my only option once all troubleshooting steps have been completed?

    I stated my current Xbox one is not working now, thanks to the Latest Update. It’s not a new one.

    It’s a useless brick now, if I buy a new one today from the store will it get the same Update of death and turn that one into a useless brick also??

    What does "I set it off" mean?

    You pulled the plug or turned off power when an update was started?

    I think hardest reset is holding two buttons(at disk drive, not long from usb there and power) until it starts and do a full reset of console from a menu or something.

    What does "I set it off" mean?

    You pulled the plug or turned off power when an update was started?
    I allowed it to start the update (it was sitting there in the screen asking to start or wait).

    I think hardest reset is holding two buttons(at disk drive, not long from usb there and power) until it starts and do a full reset of console from a menu or something.
    Thanks for that, didnt know about that one. Didnt work though... held the buttons for 30 seconds then tried the front panel ON button... nada.
