Update 2 July - now needs gold membership to work!!!

I've only been playing Forza 5 for about a week now - yesterday it said there was an update required. Following the update, when I try to play - it says I need Gold membership for this game ... has anyone else had this happen - or should I just try to uninstall
and reload the game? The game loads, I click A - then when I get to the menu screen - the league screen has a red frame and I can't move to anything else - I can't even play split screen with the kids anymore. It's very frustrating!!! Any suggestions?

well for one thing if it says two day trial then it worked

you just not understanding what the two day trial is

it isnt gold membership nor does it turn your account to gold

it is temporary access to multiplayer

no gold exclusives or full membership options

you need to buy a membership for gold to get that offer or the 2 games a month offeril coming in July

I'm still on free months trial and it seemed ok a few hours ago but at this time I cant see the store page or game dlc info for any of my games so I guess some of the service is down.

 

I was having problems just signing into Xbox Live around this time last night. I suspect it was probably just a problem with the Xbox Live servers. I was finally able to sign in a few hours later.

 

Thanks for the feedback - in the end I think it was the batteries in the controller... The controller still worked in Fifa 14 and everywhere else - just not in Forza 5! I've tried it out since as we have two controllers and when the batteries run low in
one I can switch to the other and it's fine - I can't do anything in Forza (with partially flat batteries) - but can in other games ... it seems that it just happened to coincide with a message that I had to upgrade to Gold to use the game ... odd, but I'm
really glad to be able to play again!!!
