Up on Left Thumbstick of Controller Won’t Work

Hello, I purchased an official Xbox controller about 5 months back brand new. Nothing spilled or damage to the controller looks basically brand new as of now. The up on the left thumb stick stopped working. I am not sure of the issue. It was working occasionally but now it isn’t at all. I purchase Xbox product for quality and it seems there is a lack there of as I have controllers that are almost completely busted that still work and for the price I expect them to work and not break a couple months later. Thank you

Have you tried to check the controller test on the Xbox Accessories App?

Press the Xbox Guide Button > Settings > Devices & Connections > Controllers & Headsets > Enter Test Mode (Click on the Conical/Lab Flask Icon beside the three dots ...).

Let me know if it works!

mine is broken too the whole left side of the controller is messed up when i press the left trigger it makes a weird clicking noise and so does the left thumbstick

My controller is not working correctly. After a few seconds the character on the screen start moving by himself forwards. Or in the menu screen start going up in the selections. No movement in the left thumbstick and still the character is moving.

I'm afraid the controller warranty does not cover physical damage so Microsoft will not take it for repair or replacement except you're paying for the service. I'm sorry to be the bearer of sad news.

yes, left thumbstick break, drift.... is a very well known problem. Google it and you'll find 100's of post on this faulty part with controllers. I own 2 white lunar and 1 black one, all have left drift. I also have a 4th controller that will not turn on.

The controllers thumbsticks are junk in my opinion.

Found your post googling how to solder, trade in.....what to do after my 3rd controller left thumbstick started sticking last night.
