Unwanted name change

You would need to go to http://enforcement.xbox.com for information on why it was changed and to see about submitting a case review.

Someone likely found the name offensive and reported it. Definitely not a money grab.

by accident I mean like I did it as a dare from my friends I thought I was able to change to the name I actually wanted

You will need to pay the $9.99 for a Gamer Tag change. Here is the Xbox Support information on how to do this.

if someone has changed details on the account you will need to go to
https://support.xbox.com/help/account-profile/manage-account/compromised-account-solution and follow the instructions there to secure the account as someone must have got hold of the email and password.

you can also click the Contact Us button on that page to talk to Support about protecting the account

select Family and Online Safety as the category

select I Want to Protect My Account as the topic

scroll to the bottom of the options and select Chat Online or Request a Call

you will need to sign in for this so create a new outlook or live email account for contacting Support then explain the situation and give details for the account when you get through.

once you have got evidence from Support that there was unauthorised access to the account go to https://enforcement.xbox.com/ and file a Case Review.

give the details of the unauthorised access and hopefully they will overturn the Enforcement Action.

regardless of how the account was compromised, it would be a good idea to remind your daughter about staying safe online and that sharing her sign in details could result in having the account permanently banned and she would lose all her games.
