Unsuspecting purchase or a bargain? help needed!

Good morning community,

on Saturday I got an Xbox One S from a retailer (it was a kind of savings package) with 3 games; Forza, Sea of Thieves and Fifa 18, as well as 2 controllers. Sea of Thieves and Forza were in the package as download code and Fifa 18 as CD. Now I also got 1 month
long Xbox Live Gold and 1 month long Game Pass for free.

My question now is this: If my Xbox Live has expired, can I still play Forza and Sea of Thieves and Fifa?

And do other games such as GTA V and Fallout 4 work?

What causes me most problems are Forza and Sea of Thieves. Since these were download codes, I assume that an Xbox Live Gold account is required...if so, I'll return the console.

I would be thankful if I get some answers from you, because I really don't know what to do and my girlfriend accuses me all the time now, that I only bought "scrap" with the more additional costs resulting from this membership.

Hi,

An active Xbox Live is only required to play online games with others and for Games with Gold feature.

Sea of Thieves is an online only game, you need Xbox Live to play this, and you need Live to play Multiplayer on GTA V, you don't need Gold to play the single player story on GTA of couse.

All you need to do is redeem the codes to download your games on your account, your account doesn't need to be Gold.

In a nutshell, only Sea of Thieves requires Gold to play the game, all the other games mentioned can be played single player.
