Unstable connection on Minecraft Bedrock during Local multiplayer

I got big issues playing Minecraft on local network with my friend because the game is heavily laggy.

Description :

- I am on windows 10, everything is up to date on my computer.

- My friend is on windows 11, and everything is also up to date on her computer.

- We both have a legal and up to date version of Minecraft.

- We connect on the same WiFi

- She launches a world on her PC, I join

- I also launch the task manager on my side to track the internet connection, and it highly fluctuates and reaches 0 every 5 to 10 seconds for about 2-5 seconds (the graph is like a sawtooth-shaped). And it's unplayable : my actions are not take into account and I have to do things twice every time I recover the full connection. When it remains at 0 for too long, I got kicked from the world.

I have Windows Defender and Windows Firewall, and she has McAffee. I don't know if it has something to do with our problem.

Finally, I found a solution on that problem, and it was quite simple. I had to split the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz connection band. In that way, my friend and I are now connected to the exact same network. And it seems to work well !

I understand you need help with your Minecraft game problem.

This is most of the time an issue with the network since there are no issues with the Minecraft servers. Have you already tried restarting your router?

Also, please check if it works on another internet connection like perhaps connecting both on mobile hotspot just to check if it is really a problem with the network.

Please also check the Xbox network and see if there are any problems.

Go to Start>>Settings>>Gaming>>Xbox Networking..

Simply put. No. It is not currently possible to play local multiplayer Java to bedrock Minecraft. (assuming your not running the Minecraft PS4 Edition of Minecraft). Which would still be no. There are plugins for java that allow bedrock clients to connect to java servers but that feature is not on current consoles. Sorry for the inconvenience. Happy gaming!

There could be several reasons why you can't connect to your friend's world in Minecraft Bedrock:

Firewall or router configuration: Your firewall or router may be blocking incoming connections, which would prevent your friend from connecting to your world.

Internet connection: A slow or unstable internet connection can prevent you from connecting to your friend's world.

Game version mismatch: You and your friend may be playing on different versions of the game. Ensure you are both on the same version of Minecraft Bedrock.

Xbox Live account: Make sure both you and your friend are logged in to Xbox Live, as it is required for multiplayer on Minecraft Bedrock.

NAT type: You may need to change your NAT type from strict to moderate, or open, in order to connect to your friend's world.
