    So, I was playing some Rainbow Six: Siege, and my headset has a problem of not playing volume through the headset because of the aux, so when everything deafens i have to constantly unplug and plug in my headset to get it to work properly. Now, it's been
    getting worse, but in the middle of a game i had to unplug and plug in my headset, and at 3 repeats later my xbox turned off completely. I believe this is in correlation to the old 360 reconnecting the controller when this happened back in the day, but now
    it just turns the Xbox One. I'd appreciate if this could be looked into, thank you.

    Headset not working - suggested upgrade?

    Make sure your controller is up to date with the latest firmware. It it is then try unplugging the headset from the controller then turn off the controller. Plug the headset back into the controller then power back on and see if it's working correctly.

    If you would like to upgrade your current headset and don't mind spending money on one of the higher end headsets then I would suggest the Turtle Beach headsets. If you by any chance have a wireless headset that you used with your Xbox 360 then you can purchase
    Microsoft's headset adapter for $30 to allow you to use the headset on the Xbox One.

    Can hear people but they can't hear me

    I am having the same trouble with the standard Xbox one chat head set (Firmware Version: 4.9.0.0), i've tried logging out turning the counsel off , unplugging, turning on using the controller, Updated controller with headset attached, swapped out batteries,
    nothing is working.

    As a side note: i have the purple circle by my avatar indicating my headset is attached , even after i unplug it from the controller..

    Hi,

    As weird as it sounds, try plugging your controller (with the headset plugged in) into your console, just like you're charging it. Then restart your console.

    If that doesn't work, then unplug your controller from the console and try restarting your Xbox one last time.

    It sounds weird, but it has fixed a very similar issue before for me.

    Check the connection of your mic if you use a wired headset. If it is wireless, be sure your batteries are fresh. Also, unplug your headset from your controller and connect it again. Usually, one of these are the cause. I hope this helps.

    FYI, on my original Xbox one
    when I plug in a headset into the controller the audio is redirected from the TV/HDMI to Headset and then when unplugged the audio is returned to the TV/HDMI.

    im having a similar issue (only difference would be i wasnt suspended from communications that i know of), i can hear everyone through my headset but i cant talk to them through a mic, i have to use the kinect. at first i thought my mic for the Xbox One
    stereo headset just died so i bought a new one, turtle beach XO One, but that doesnt seem to be the problem as it is still persisting for my new headset.

    i have tested it out on 3 different controllers and 2 different adapters but that didnt fix anything. ive done a cold restart. turned the xbox off and on with the controller, unplugged and plugged the xbox back in, unplugged the mic and turned the mic around
    to try and get a signal. also there is no update for any of my controllers when they are plugged into the xbox.
