Unpair controller

I need to unpair/unstnc my old co troller from my Xbox so I can connect it to my Apple TV.

All searches say “hold the pair button” but it is not working, my Apple TV never sees it, and it is not showing up in the devices to pair.

It also keeps triggering my Xbox to turn on, so I unplugged it. Apple TV Bluetooth still cannot see it.

Tried the “hold the reset button for 10 seconds” - it is not working, the controller never vibrates, and never resets.

I tried taking the battery out, but it still stays connected to the dang Xbox.

Apparently my Apple TV will refuse to see a Bluetooth device that is synced to my Xbox. But there is no way to unpair?

Please help before I start to throw things, it’s driving me nuts.

I don’t know why people keep suggesting that.

It is not an option to unpair anything in that menu.

And “holding the sync button for 10 seconds until it vibrates” does not happen either.

Do you have access to a PC?

If you do, please, follow these steps:

Open the Microsoft Store.

Search for Xbox Acessories app.

Install and Open the Xbox Accessories app.

Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller by using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.

When the controller is connected, you'll see the message Update Required if an update is mandatory.

Install the update.

Then, try the unpairing again:

Press and hold the pair button on top of the controller for a few seconds until it vibrates twice.

Hi Jamie,

If holding the power button on the headset does not unpair the headset to the Xbox, then the headset was probably not design to be able to unpair but only be paired to another Xbox. Since it uses the same connection as the Xbox One controllers, it may act
the same way in that you can't necessarily unpair your controller from your Xbox, you can only pair the controller with another console. The controller will always try and find the console it last connected to or a new console searching for a controller to
pair, and the headset probably behaves in this same manner. It seems like if an unpair feature was available, it would be a button on the headset or a specific sequence but that would be something you would need to contact SteelSeries about.
