Unlinking profiles

Hi. I have had 2 seperate accounts for my child and for myself. Ever since I used the one email as a secondary email for account retrieval purposes, the two accounts seemingly became linked. The result was that the 1st gamer profile created was on both accounts, and the 2nd profile disappeared. Can anyone help with this please?

Is not possible to have merged two Microsoft accounts into a single account.

If you had the same email as an alias added to both accounts, probable you have a Microsoft domain email linked to at least one of the accounts.

You can try finding the other account using one of the methods below:

You can try all the emails you remember or if you had a phone number attached to the account, you can use that too.

Or you can try filling the account recovery form

In cases like this, here in the public forums no one Microsoft agent can assist you with this process / tell your the specific email / modify or share account details due to privacy and security policies

The only way to unlink an account from a profile is to use the unlink function in accounts and linking. To verify you are the owner of the account it does require you to authenticate the unlink by entering the credentials for the account you wish to remove. If you do not know the credentials nor can obtain the credentials then you will never be able to remove that account from that Bungie profile.

We understand that you need help with your Xbox account that you want to unlink to your old EA Sports profile.

To unlink an Xbox account from EA Sports profile, you should visit their support page where you can manage your EA Sport profile by there you will have an option to unlink or manage your profile there. Because if you will check on Microsoft support page there is no option to unlink or manage 3rd party accounts or in game accounts.

-Go to the Connections tab in your EA Account settings portal..

-Find the account you want to unlink, and click the Unlink button next to it.

-Check the box next to I understand and wish to continue.

-Click Unlink.

Yes I have tried unlinking from both places. Given that when I unlink from one and it says I have no more unlinks for the year it seems odd that it is resetting back to 1.

Yes I have the new XBox app. None of the other Xbox games I have installed are having an issue. They have all properly synced to my profile and therefore I'm seeing achievements unlock. Again, the only reason I'm trying to unlink is so that 1 game will trigger a login prompt and access for permission to use my XBox profile again.

You should be able to unlink your Xbox account from your EA account by signing into your EA Account and under your profile info you should see all the linked profiles.
