Unlink Microsoft account from Minecraft.

Unfortunately, once you link a Microsoft account to a Minecraft account, I am afraid they cannot be unlinked!

Any update on how to unlink a Microsoft account from Minecraft? Logged into it on an old email on my PS5 and it's linked to a friend's Xbox account from about 15 years ago. The Minecraft for PlayStation login code error when trying to join Realms or play with friends can be fixed by unlinking and relinking your Microsoft account to the game. If that doesn't work, try creating a new PS account and linking your Microsoft account to it, suggests a Reddit user.

Steps to unlink and relink your Microsoft account:

1. Unlink your account:

Launch Minecraft.

Go to Settings > Profile.

Select Unlink Microsoft Account.

2. Relink your account:

Launch Minecraft again.

Select the option to add an account.

Enter your Microsoft account email address and password.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. You would not be unlinking a PS account from your Microsoft account, you would be unlinking the Microsoft account from your PS account. So, you may need to do this either from your PS settings, your PS account settings
or from within Minecraft itself.

If you haven't already, try contacting PS support for further support. Also, take a look at this

"Minecraft for PS4 FAQ". It does state that there may be complications with unlinking the account.

You can unlink the psn account however you CANT link a different one.

Note: Once a Microsoft account has been linked to a PlayStation® account, neither the Microsoft account nor the PlayStation™ Network account can be associated with a different account. 

If you choose to unlink accounts, then purchases will be returned to the account which made the purchase. Even after unlinking, Microsoft and PlayStation® accounts can only be re-linked to the original account.
