Unlink an Xbox Live account from Microsoft Account

I need to delete my Xbox account, but I can't delete my Microsoft account as it is connected to my Windows download and my Office subscription. Is there any way to unlink the Xbox account from my Microsoft account?

Xbox Live and Skype account mixup

When I made my Xbox Live account, my mum's Microsoft account was used. When I made my Skype account, I linked my Microsoft account. I see that you cannot unlink Microsoft accounts from Skype accounts. If it is because Microsoft doesn't want Skype and Microsoft
to be separate, I'm just unlinking my Xbox Live account from that Skype account to link to my Skype account which I also want to unlink. Would it be possible for Microsoft to do this?

Hey buddy! Your Xbox profile only applies if your signed into an Xbox app or an Xbox. Your Microsoft account also has a option for you to program it to a phone for phone number and contact pictures and videos, but doesn't apply unless your signed into a
Microsoft phone. Same as the Xbox profile. Only way to disassociate is to delete the account entirely.

I understand that unfortunately it's impossible. However is there a way to unlink or delete the Xbox Live Account linked to the B (target) Microsoft Account and then link the A Xbox Live Account? Or the other way around - unlink Xbox Live Account from the
A Microsoft Account (would the achievements be stored locally then?) and then link it to the B Microsoft Account?

To set your expectations properly, you cannot directly unlink an Xbox Live account (your Xbox profile) from a Microsoft account it is because the Xbox Live account is essentially a part of your Microsoft account and they are intrinsically linked.

Removing the Xbox profile from your console only removes it from that specific device, not from your overall Microsoft account.

unfortunately email accounts with Microsoft domains (Hotmail, Outlook, Live, etc) can't be unlinked from Xbox profiles
