If you have any usb external drives connected to the console, disconnect them before turning the console on. Make sure you use a wall power socket, not a power board to power the console.

If you connect the console to another surge protector, the console will not be able to reach the full power needed for optimal performance and therefore may turn off, it is advisable to plug it directly into the power outlet.

Therefore, it is recommended to reset the internal power supply, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the power cord from the console.
2. Wait 10 seconds.
3. Reconnect the cable to the console and then press the Xbox button on the front of the console.

I have tried unplugging the unit overnight and the issue persisted I also don’t have an external power supply and the issue started after updating the firmware.

The unit was just replaced under warranty as it would not power on at all before and now just powers off on its own.

Oh yeah, & I forgot to mention that shortly after my TV turned itself off, my sound system did the same.
