Uninstalling Xbox extender win7

Discus and support Uninstalling Xbox extender win7 in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; In the media center instructions it says to uninstall the extender if you had one previously setup.     Uninstalling Xbox extender win7


    In the media center instructions it says to uninstall the extender if you had one previously setup. I get a configuration error after I enter the 8 digit code. I don't see an uninstall option anywhere. Im stuck. Thanks

    Media Extender Problem

    Well, on a whim today, i rebooted the win7 box: no joy. Being a glutton for punishment, I did it agian: still no joy.

    Having a lot of time on my hands, i booted into safe mode and then shut the machine down.

    Restarted normally. Lo and behold: my problem disappeared. The xbox media center extender connected to the win7 machine and appears to be functioning normally.

    media centre extender disconnected

    I've been trying to play music, videos & pictures to my xbox 360 for a long time now,

    Using the xbox as a windows media centre -extender.

    The best I've done is that it connects, & I can start playing a song, but then it shows "extender disconnected" after a few seconds.

    and I get errors on win7 Warning event ID 110

    "An unauthorized window was detected while running Windows Media Center, could not retrieve the window title or file name."

    then error 123

    "The Media Center Extender session was terminated because an unauthorized window opened in the session."

    I've tried everything I can think of & still no luck, here is a list;

    I started with win XP, on 2 different PCs with media centre

    now I have win7 on 2 PCs now with media centre

    Tried Both wired & wireless, no firewall, antivirus...

    different routers.. all on my home network on the same subnet.

    Any ideas on other things to try? as I'd really like to get this working.

    Hi. I'm on Windows 7. So now there wasn't an extender so I entered a new 8 digit code but i got the same error message again

    CONFIGURATION ERROR

    An error was encountered while configuring your computer for use with this extender.

    I did install windows 10 but had to roll back to windows 7 because of blue screen errors. Since then it's unable to configure the extender.

    I'm on windows 7. I'm getting the same error message and for some reason there was no extender to uninstall. I figured I would be able to proceed. Nope

    well for some reason there wasn't an old extender when Ij just rebooted but I'm still getting the error message after I enter a new 8 digit code. Also I'm on windows 7.

    Thank you for following up. Here are steps on how to remove previous connections:

    1. Start Windows Media Center.

    2. At the bottom of the menu, select the Down Arrow, and under Tasks, select Settings.



    3. Select Extender.

    4. Select Xbox 360 Media Center Extender.

    5. Select Uninstall.

    6. Select Next.

    Don't forget to let us know how it turns out.
