Undrstanding Gold and Family members on Xbox One S

Hi,

I am familiar with the way Gold functions with an Xbox360, having owned a couple of them for years. Just bought a Xbox One S and purchased 12 months of Gold which shows up on my profile as an active membership, but my son's profile on the same Xbox One S
doesn't indicate that he has any Gold benefits, even though he is part of my Xbox Family group. It keeps offering him to buy Gold, but my understanding was that anyone who logs into my Xbox One S with their Microsoft account (he has) shares the Gold benefits.

I was also wondering why the Gold membership does not trickle down to my same Microsoft account on our Xbox 360? Is this by design?

Family gold

I think Xbox should bring back the family gold account back that you share with 4 family members and also you should be able to share your digital library with those family members aswell I think instead of just one Xbox we are now a household 3 standard
Xbox one consoles and a Xbox One S and soon a Xbox one x since they got rid of family gold I now costs £160 a year as apposed to the £80 a year it used to cost for the family to have gold needless to say only 1 account has gold anymore and the others have
learned to live with out

Adding my partners Xbox 360 Username to the Xbox One

If you are gold just add her account to the Xbox one using the 360 details then go to settings and add her id into family it will then grant her ID the same Gold status you have at no extra cost, All Family members on the console get the same gold status as the main ID

Make sure you have the console set as your Home console. This is what allows the gold to be shared. My Home Xbox Setting on Xbox One | Share Your Xbox One

Gold is not tied to the console but to the account. So you should be able to sign into the same account on the 360 and still have gold. If you are referring to your son's account, he can only share your gold on the One.

and then everyone on that console will have access to Gold features.

It doesn't however operate backward.

So while your Gold account can enable the Silver members of your family to play online on an Xbox One. If those accounts were on a 360 they would still only be Silver and thus suffer all the restrictions of that membership level.

I am in the same boat as you. We have three Xbox 's among four Gold Family members in my household and we share a lot of single player game also. It would be nice if you could share those download among the family gold members and then charge a fee their
after. Some software today like anti virus, OS, for (e.g.) will let you download it up to three different system before it will charge for extra key. This is something MS should consider for the Xbox One.

I think they should think about families and bring back the family pass or let two xbox on the same network to use one gold for family members 👍

Hello sir. You could keep all the membership yourself by removing profiles in the plan. This can be done by following this steps:

Console steps: Remove a member from a Gold Family Pack

On your console, sign in to Xbox LIVE with the primary account for the Gold Family Pack.

Go to Settings, and then select Family.

Select the member you want to remove from the Gold Family Pack.

Go to Account Management, and then select Remove From Gold Family Pack.

Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the member from the Gold Family Pack. When prompted, confirm the removal.

Computer steps: Remove a member from a Gold Family Pack

Go to the Family Center.

Hover over a family member, and then click Remove from Family.
